Financial research has been seriously limited due to inadequate
access to data and a limited range of analytical tools. I believe
that the next “big leap” in financial research can only happen
with the capabilities that computer science in general and
information management in particular bring to the effort.  I
hope that this workshop will play a pivotal role in jump starting
this most important interdisciplinary collaboration.
