Are There Flags or Favorites?
Wed, 02/03/2010 - 16:08
Hello Q4D
Suppose I want to flag a data set for future work or identify a view that I might want to see again, is there any way to add a book mark or set a flag on an object in Quantum 4D?
Thanks,
Sandy
Sandy,
I have two answers for you on this one. You can designate a favorite space (works like bookmarks) and/or create a note an object or a space. The advantage to adding a favorite space is that you can return to the space at any time. A note works well if you want to draw someone's attention to something important in the space or object. Flags are a different story. They are used to alert the user when something happens. For example, you can map a flag alert to appear when a ticker closes under a designated value.
To add favorite spaces:
1. Click on any space in the tree to select it (except the current space)
2. Click on the start + button on the "Go" toolbar:
3. The selected space has been added to your favorites.
To access your favorite spaces, click on the start button next to the star +. A panel will open with all of your favorite spaces.
To add a note on your current space:
1. Click Edit>New>Note
2. Enter your information and click OK
You will now see a note on that space
To add a note on an object:
1. Right click an object
2. Select New>Note
3. Enter your information and click OK
To view all note within a space and on any objects within the space :
1. Click Lens>View Notes
I hope this helps! If you still have more questions, let us know.
