Commissioned Sales Agent & Model Makers
You are strongly familiar with the challenges associated with a particular industry or knowledge domain. You've looked through our site and thought "that would be great to have for X." We're looking for a few good agent sales representatives willing to build a few models that would speak to their community of users and sell into that community either through pre-existing relationships or connections provided by Quantum4D.
Our customers tend to be pretty smart so we expect our sales reps to be able to get up to speed with the software and use it in a way they envision our customers will want to use it. You'll be building a demo that will speak to the people you are selling to. We provide the software, access to WebEx, and you are off!
Commission rates are now negotiable based on experience, match, and track record.
Software Engineer
We need world-class engineers to develop our data exploration technologies. The problem space includes everything from mining huge datasets to presenting complex information in an easily digestible form for end-users.
We are looking for talented and passionate software engineers who love to code and aren't intimidated by challenging problems. We brew 5.0-style Java and know the open-source world inside out. We are designing algorithms to solve novel search problems across heterogeneous data. Our data visualization technology allows analysts to understand complex relationships: think finding a needle in a haystack. If you're interested in working at a fast-moving, rapidly growing business, we're the company for you.
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent (PhD or dropped-out-of-PhD a plus)
- Previous job experience a plus, Java experience a big plus
- Enthusiasm for solving interesting problems and a willingness to take on new product features.
- Background in distributed systems, machine learning, information retrieval, data mining, data visualization, and/or developing enterprise software systems a plus
- Interest in working on a rapidly changing, ever-evolving system
- Software engineering positions are available on multiple teams
Systems Administrator
As with most rapidly growing companies, we're quickly deploying internal systems that require a little TLC. We are looking for a talented systems administrator who is fluent in Linux-ese but Windows friendly as well. Administrative duties would include maintaining internal business systems as well as engineering and QA boxes. Secure network design is a must. Desktop support would be involved. Good communication skills and rapid assimilation are highly desired.
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
- Previous job experience required, preferably on both platforms. Exchange administration a big plus
- Enthusiasm for solving systems and networking problems
- Interest in working with both business users and engineers
- Ability to design a comprehensive technology plan
- Must be able to convey and justify decisions to managers
- Interest in working in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment
Technical Writer
Quantum4D is looking to add a strong professional writer to the team. Candidates should have a background in technical writing or a strong general knowledge of technology and an eagerness to learn more. Beyond that, we're just looking for the best writer we can find.
We know that effective communication is hard and effective technical communication is even harder. We're looking to team up with a writer who is excited by the challenge of creating our corporate idiom for everything from press releases to product launches. Quantum4D seeks someone who wants to do more than crank out marketing boilerplates for a dull, fungible product. The software Quantum4D designs is both innovative and socially useful. We need someone to help us communicate the definitive characteristics of our software to a market comprised of the most sophisticated people in the business. The writer we're looking for will help us define the vernacular for a new market for a product that is primarily visual, but for which visual communication is not always an option.
Director of Support
We are looking for a brilliant customer support engineer who understands software engineering and is very familiar with technology, but is more fulfilled by serving customers than writing code. The Director of Support is critical to the growth of the company and as such carries a lot of responsibility and visibility. This position will be responsible for helping to build out the rest of the Customer Support team, establishing infrastructure and processes. If you are interested in a challenging, high-stakes position with significant room for growth, and are passionate about great service, this is the position for you.
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. in Engineering (Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent preferred)
- Quantitative thinker who can model support needs, perform resource/hiring planning, and manage support efficiency
- Qualitative thinker with strong communication skills and passion
- Familiarity with internal enterprise support systems, including tracking & ticketing systems a plus
- Previous job experience in technical customer service a plus
- Love for and thorough understanding of technology
- Self starter with enthusiasm for solving interesting problems
- Interest in working in a fast-paced environment with amazing technology
Ontological Engineer
How do you define the world around you? What categories, high-level objects, and attributes do you map your world to? How do you know that one object is the same as another object? How does your view of the world compare to someone else's? Are you interested in solving difficult problems like these?
The Ontological Engineer is a member of the Product Development Organization who will be responsible for designing, evaluating, implementing, and documenting the standard ontology that Quantum4D ships with its software. This is a high-visibility position with a large impact on the organization's future. Successful candidates must be exceptionally motivated and have the ability to think abstractly in a number of contexts. Self starters and rigorous analytical thinkers are ideal fits for this position.
Requirements:
- Technical B.S. degree (Computer Science or symbolic systems major preferred)
- Some experience designing and/or implementing ontologies preferred
- Familiarity with ontological systems and principles (e.g. XTM, RDF)
- Solid experience or demonstrated understanding of database design, integration
- Ability to communicate effectively with developers, project management, and end users
- Ability to write effectively and perform technical briefings
- Analytical ability to identify deficiencies/limitations in existing architectures and the ability to make recommendations to improve them
