Tree
The navigation controls for moving between spaces should be familiar to anyone who has used a standard file and folder system. The “Data tree” is similar to a file tree, but instead of files and documents you have spaces, objects, relations, and lenses. The big difference is that instead of files and folders, you have objects containing spaces or relations containing spaces/objects with attributes (and so on). Since spaces can be nested inside objects, an additional “up” button is available. This lets you move up a ladder in the data model.
The tree can be used in three different activities:
- Go to different spaces – double click on a space to enter it. As you navigate through spaces the tree will reflect your current position. Sometimes, since objects are in multiple spaces, when you navigate up you may end up in a different space.
- Add/copy group/objects/relation – select the place where you want to add, right click, and go to New
- Bring up controls to merge objects, set relations, and view attribute data
