Basic Search

Quantum4D allows you to search for spaces, lenses, and objects.  From the Application toolbar, enter your search text and hit return to execute a general search. This function results in the most general search possible. In this example we entered “services” and hit return. The result is a list of objects with “services” in either the short or long name.

The search function defaults to this general search upon opening, but if you have just completed an advanced search, the search function reverts to the last settings used until you change the advanced search settings again or re-open the program.

Advanced Search

To conduct an advanced search, press the button with the magnifying glass to go to the Advanced Search control panel.

Choose which repository to search. The default option will search the current repository. Enter your search in the box and select any parameter (e.g. whole word, matching exactly, or case sensitive). In this case we chose to match the term “Other services” exactly and search objects only. The results show objects with “Other services” in the name only.

You can click on the results as they appear in the search results panel and perform functions such as enter spaces or add objects to your current space by clicking and dragging.
