Repositories
A repository is a database of information in Quantum4D. These databases can be hosted or local to your computer. Your local Quantum4D administrator will set you up with hosted repositories. You can create your own local repositories. In this section, we’ll explain how to manage repositories.
Wikibase
You are free to access Quantum4D’s Wikibase. This resource is hosted online by Quantum4D and you are free to edit, add, or copy data from this repository. Data stored here will be accessible to anyone who has access to the Wikibase.
If you don’t see a Wikibase repository when you start Quantum4D, ask your local Quantum4D administrator to provide you with the information to set up the Wikibase connection.
My Spaces
This is your personal data repository. While it has the advantage of being private and solely accessible by you, it has the disadvantage of being loaded completely at run time. This means if you connect to the My Spaces when you start, an empty My Spaces repository will start very quickly; but the more data and views you store the longer it will take to launch.
.q4d files
Any .q4d file in the “Quantum4D “folder within your local “My Documents” folder will be recognized as a repository in Quantum4D. Upon starting up, Quantum4D will display your existing repositories plus any .q4d file in your Quantum4D folder. You can still import and export data as .q4d files as well.
