Objects are placeholders corresponding to, for example, a country, market, industry, company, financial instrument, individual, or place. They are populated with data “about” the chosen object (e.g. for a country object such as Canada, there might be data for GDP growth per year or population size). Objects are represented as models (spheres, flags, factories, etc.) in the space that moves when animated. There are many appearance settings available for objects. They are outlined in the next sections.

Quantum4D is an object oriented interface. There is one object for each entity (person, company, industry grouping) in the system. All data about that entity is attributed to and accessed through this object. Once an object has been copied into a space, users can toggle through and animate different variables rapidly.
Objects remember which spaces they are used in. This gives immediate access to any space in which the object appears. Files, documents and pictures can be mapped to the object as well. Data about relations between objects can be accessed by invoking relations and their data into the current space.
