Changing your Home Space
When you launch Quantum4D, if the first page you see is a black and blank 3D space, then you have not yet set your home space. The home space should default to any space named “Home” at the root level. If it is not already set, you can do so by right clicking the space you want as your home space and selecting Set as Home Space:

General Space Navigation:
Use the Space Toolbar
![]()
- Home: takes you to your designated home space
- Back: takes you back to your previous space (like web pages)
- Up: takes you to the next space higher up in the tree
- Forward: takes you to the space you just went back from (like web pages)
- Refresh: Refresh your current session (basically a brute force ‘undo’)
Where Next?
From here you can explore existing views or create your own view.
Exploring Existing Views
- Expand the tree to see sub-spaces of existing objects and double click those spaces to enter and see the pre-configured views.
- Search for what you want to see. Once the results come up, right click and choose Usages… to view what spaces the object is used in. Double click to enter these spaces.
Create a New View
- Create views from scratch by making a New Space beneath an object or beneath the default database root.
Usages
The Usages feature is an essential time-saving collaborative and model building tool in Quantum4D. From any tree, you can find where in a database an object, relation or space is used. Simply right click the entity and select “Usages”. You will see a listing of all instances of the selected entity. From this list, you can enter spaces, cut, copy or delete entities, move entities to new locations, etc. Usages works well paired with Search results.
Example: Say you want to find data on United States, but you don’t want to look through space after space to find what you’re looking for.
1. Search United States to find data.

2. Find the object named “United States (US)”, right click and select “Usages”
3. Now you see the spaces where “United States (US)” exists. From here you can enter or manage a space! You can also often learn things about a concern based on the spaces it is used in.

Find Relation Path
Find Relation Path finds and displays the path between two objects through relations.
1.The Find Relation Path feature can be found on the main menu: Relation>Find Relation Path or on the right click menu
2.If no objects are selected, you will be prompted to choose two objects.

3. If you select two objects prior to selecting the Find Relation Path feature, then your selection will be entered for you.

The result shows the path from the first object to the second. This tree is a fully functional tree allowing you to see attribute list, usages, copy & paste, etc.

Parents
The Parents feature finds all the parent objects, spaces and groups of an entity.
1. The Parents feature can be found on the main menu: Object>Parents or on the right click menu.
